That's a leadership fallacy.\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"What happens, instead, is you acquire more control, develop more team dependence\\n(you are now the dependency!), create a sense of distrust, and lose sight of the\\nforest through the trees. Why? Because now \", mdx(\"em\", {\n    parentName: \"p\"\n  }, \"all\"), \" the ins and outs run through\\nyou instead of through \", mdx(\"em\", {\n    parentName: \"p\"\n  }, \"the team\"), \". Your sense of control becomes a distortion of\\nreality, which prevents you from focusing on the \", mdx(\"em\", {\n    parentName: \"p\"\n  }, \"right\"), \" things as a leader, and\\nletting your team grow.\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"But how does \", mdx(\"em\", {\n    parentName: \"p\"\n  }, \"giving\"), \" control help?\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"Because your team now grows, learns, and assumes deeper responsibility and\\naccountability for all the functions of the team. Doing so allows you to teach,\\ntrain, mentor, and focus your time on the high-value activities you should be\\nfocusing on. You gain more clarity and \", mdx(\"em\", {\n    parentName: \"p\"\n  }, \"time\"), \", which is invaluable when you are\\nleading a team.\"), mdx(\"p\", null, mdx(\"em\", {\n    parentName: \"p\"\n  }, \"That\"), \" is control.\"), mdx(\"p\", null, \"When you try and control everything, you are now losing control of your time and\\nability to concentrate on the most important tasks.
